BODY LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Laser body hair removal is an excellent method for removing unwanted body hair for both men and women. Compared to other hair removal options, laser hair removal offers longer lasting results with less painful treatments. Lasers can quickly and efficiently remove hair from the legs, bikini area, armpits, arms, backs and chests. With multiple sessions, laser hair removal will result in permanent hair reduction.

Most people who have chosen laser hair removal say that laser hair removal is a worthwhile investment of time and money, especially those who have had a difficult time with other hair removal options. Razors and shaving can irritate the skin and needs to be done consistently to avoid stubble. Waxing hurts and needs to be done over and over again as hair grows. Some body areas can be treated with depilatory creams, but they can cause chemical burns if they are left on too long and it does not stop new hair growth. Electrolysis can be permanent but it is very time consuming and expensive for large body areas. With laser hair removal, the treatments are not only relatively quick and painless, but after six months of treatment most people can expect that 60 to 95 percent of the treated hair will be gone.

Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin in the hair follicle, so the best results are seen with patients who have dark hair and light skin. Treatments are not as effective on light colored hair (blonde, red, white, gray). Tanning should be avoided prior to laser treatment. For patients with dark skin, experienced laser technicians with the appropriate lasers are often able to get positive results

Multiple treatments are required with laser hair removal to obtain permanent hair reduction. The hair grows in cycles and the laser only destroys the hair follicles in the active growth stage. Hair in the dormant stage is not affected with treatment. Most patients require four to eight sessions about two to three months apart to obtain permanent hair reduction.

Body Hair Removal

Leg Hair Laser Removal

Laser hair removal for the legs takes about 1 -1 ½ hours for each session.

Chest Hair Laser Removal

Laser hair removal for chest hair takes about 45 minutes to an hour for each session.

Bikini Area Hair Laser Removal

Laser hair removal for the bikini area takes about 15 - 30 minutes for each session. It causes less irritation to this sensitive area than shaving or waxing.

Back Hair Laser Removal

Laser hair removal for back hair is a quick and affordable option over time. Each session takes about 1 - 1 ½ hours.

According to the American Association for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, an average laser session costs $388, but the prices can vary depending on the area you want treated. Even though the prices may seem more expensive than other options, with time it becomes more cost efficient because of the longer lasting results. And not only can laser hair removal provide more permanent hair reduction, but the treatment is also much more comfortable, causes less irritation and less ingrown hairs than electrolysis or waxing or shaving.
